Independent Review Teams

The independent review process is a critical part of developing a winning approach. There are two standard approaches to the review process for major opportuntities. The most common is the staged, color-code process that provides an iterative review process. The typical colors are:

• pink- provides an initial assessment of approach, strategy, and direction and attempts to provide course correction before path dependent detailed documents have been developed
• red - focuses on providing a management and subject matter expert (SME) assessment of the largely fully developed proposal response, attempts provide additional focus, assumes that the approach is on-track (although this is often enough not the case);
• gold - management review and sign off, final review of offer and business case, strong emphasis on business case
